Friendship Between You and I

We've been friends forever...

and I'm just hoping you know

I never take that for granted

Almost everydays, there's some reason

for me to feel thankful

that you're in my life.

When something really good happens,

I know you'll want to hear about it.

When something really rotten happens,

you're there to help me get through it.

We know how to make each other laugh,

sometimes with nothing more than a look.

We know how to give each other good advice.

And even more important, when not to.

By now, we can almost finish each other's sentence.

Best of all,

We can just be ourselves together,

and that's a rare feeling in anybody's life.

We manage to stay close because

when you have a friendship

as precious as ours,

you hang on for a dear life.
